9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. 10 Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; 11 not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, patient[c] in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; 13 distributing to the needs of the saints, given[d] to hospitality. -
Romans 12:9-13
There are 100 one anothers mentioned in scripture, 59 of them are direct commands. This is just 12 of them. The Christian Life is not meant to be lived alone with just Jesus and you. We are commanded and expected to do life together. That's the only way we can walk out these commands. Sometimes we like to think that these extend to those outside of Christ and they do in that our distinct way of living attracts them to Him. This is the whole point of God calling out the nation of Israel and surrounding them with pagan nations. They were to show that they were different by how they worshiped God. Something as simple as taking a day off, was revolutionary in that time!
In a day and age where polarization is popular and the narrative is overwhelmingly negative The Body of Christ is called to shine bright and counter the culture. As we gather together in churches across the nation and we hear the Gospel message that salvation comes to us by Grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ alone, as revealed in the Scripture alone all for the Glory of God alone our lives are transformed and just as we see in the Book of Acts everywhere we gather we do so joyfully and bearing one another's burdens and meeting each other's needs and laughing and mourning and hoping and rejoicing in Christ our King even in the midst of marginalization and persecution.
We are truly a city set upon a hill and our light cannot be hidden because our light shines forth from Calvary. Everything we do stems from and leads back to the Cross.
I encourage you to find a Christ-centered Gospel proclaiming church. A place where the Word of God is preached and Christ is exalted. A place where you know you're at home and can develop deep relationships.
I'll publish a few links where you can inquire of some faithful Pastors who will help you in locating such a place. May the Lord continue to strengthen His Church.
