The Process of Wisdom

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths - Proverbs 3:5-6   Photo by  Mark Neal  from  Pexels This is a familiar passage and that makes hearing hard and if hearing is hard faith is difficult and if faith is difficult then transformation doesn't happen and if transformation doesn't happen then it's easy to call God unfaithful. We must first remember that transformation is a slow process so we have to be all in with God through Christ by the Holy Spirit, which is the first part of this passage. Trust. Trust implies that we submit to the lordship of Christ through obedience to God's commands as The Holy Spirit enables us. I'm hounding away on the Trinity up front because no amount of white knuckled discipline is going to bring this pass. The laws of God cannot be kept by sinful men. They were meant to show us our need for a savior, which we have only ...

The Value of Wisdom

Sound wisdom keeps us from the path of death and leads us to the path of righteousness and contentment. This path is not natural for us. We can't find it on our own. We must cry out for guidance from...

The Root of Wisdom

Photo by Alex Andrews from Pexels The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction -  Proverbs 1:7 Do you want to be wise? Do you want to know what to do when you don't know what to do? Then revere, acknowledge and trust God. The fear of The Lord is the starting point for knowing what to do because everything He says is good for teaching, reproving, correcting and for training in righteousness. Everything He says will aide and equip you for every good work. Nothing He says is void of power. He has made all things and in Him all things are held together by the word of His power. Everything He says comes to pass. He has not left us to wonder what He has said or what He is like. He has inspired men from various backgrounds and socioeconomic status across millennia to record His words for us so that we may read them, give attention to them, hide them in our heart and live as He directs. Furthermore, He has given us His Son, The God-Ma...
