The Value of Wisdom

So you will walk in the way of the good and keep to the paths of righteousness - Proverbs 2:20
Earlier in this passage the writer is admonishing us to search for wisdom like hidden treasure, to prize wisdom over silver, to incline our ears and heart to wisdom and to cry out for understanding. Then, we will find the knowledge of God, for He has stored up sound wisdom for the upright. Sound wisdom keeps us from going astray. Sound wisdom will keep us out of the way of the blood thirsty, those who find no rest until they have committed murder, out of the way of sexual immorality, those driven by passions of the flesh that see others as a means of selfish satisfaction, out of the way of covetousness, desiring what we do no have. Sound wisdom keeps us from the path of death and leads us to the path of righteousness and contentment.
This path is not natural for us. We can't find it on our own. We must cry out for guidance from our Good Shepherd if we're going to walk in it. It comes as we give attention to God's word. This path leads us straight to the throne of God in whose presence is fullness of joy and at whose right hand are pleasures forevermore. The path of wisdom is The Path of Christ, for only Jesus has said, "I am the Way, the Truth and the Life and no one comes to the Father except through me."
True everlasting life is found only in Christ in whom all the fullness of the Godhead dwells in bodily form and He will lead us and guide us if we ask.
In Christ,
Storm
