The Process of Wisdom

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make straight your paths - Proverbs 3:5-6

This is a familiar passage and that makes hearing hard and if hearing is hard faith is difficult and if faith is difficult then transformation doesn't happen and if transformation doesn't happen then it's easy to call God unfaithful. We must first remember that transformation is a slow process so we have to be all in with God through Christ by the Holy Spirit, which is the first part of this passage. Trust. Trust implies that we submit to the lordship of Christ through obedience to God's commands as The Holy Spirit enables us. I'm hounding away on the Trinity up front because no amount of white knuckled discipline is going to bring this pass.
The laws of God cannot be kept by sinful men. They were meant to show us our need for a savior, which we have only in Christ Jesus Our Lord. We are to trust Him with our whole being, our heart. Every aspect of life is to be surrendered to His Kingship. Our heart has been discipled to do things a certain way. We have learned how to do things from our parents, from educational systems and our own life experiences and while none of those things are bad in and of themselves our first line of action as Christians, is to consult The Lord.
We submit our plans and our ways to Him and He promises to direct our path and make them straight. Life has a way of presenting us with multiple ways to a singular destination and while they may be good, they may not be best either.
God has given us guidelines and specifics in His word. This is going to take time. This is going to take change, but God is faithful and those who trust in Him will never be put to shame.

In Christ,
Storm
